Technology of double-groove rolling-division
of the concrete-reinforcing steel bars
INTRODUCTION
The main shortages of light section bars production
are high energy and material consumption and low productivity (less then
average) of the rolling mill. It depends on small mass of one meter length
stock and the finishing roll's speed.
The well known Canadian technology which has been
developed by Co-Steel International and improved by Japanese Nippon Kokkan,
is used now for the production of light section steel bars. This technology
consists in formation the round shape double strands work piece and following
division it on two separate strands by special wedge rolls device.
Among the disadvantages of that technology there are:
NEW TECHNOLOGY
New technology consists in formation of two-strand
workpiece, consisting of two square bars, connected among themselves on
a diagonal with a bridge from the single stock and longitudinal division
of workpiece on two separate bars by the work rolls. Technology Is based
on new method of longitudinal division by work rolls, and use of the developed
by authors special guide fittings.
RESULTS.
As we found out all mentioned above disadvantages
are absent In newly developed technology. The technology can be realized
in groups of stands with various orientation of rolls axes. Depending on
throughout of main and auxiliary equipment, the technology provides increase
of light-section rolling mills hour productivity on 15-80% and output on
3-6 kg/ton, decrease of specific charge of the electric power on metal
deformation on 20-30 Z and specific charge of work rolls on 15-30 Z, can
promote an increase of initial stock transverse section and increase of
productivity for previous billet mills. The technology of production of
concrete-reinforcing bars NIZ and NIO by double groove rolling-division
process is Introduced and could be presented on Krivoy Rog Metallurgical
Combine "Krivorogstal" at two light-section mills. New technology
could be used at the metallurgical enterprises for the production of periodical
reinforcement steel bars at the light sections rolling mills any construction
(continuous, semi continuous, etc.).
FURTHER PROPOSALS
For the realization of new technology there is
necessary to design new grooving of work rolls, and to produce and set
on special guide fittings and Intermediate tables between the mill stands.
Authors are able to design all the auxiliary equipment, rolls grooving
and regimes of rolling process, evaluate the effectiveness of technology
for specific customer conditions. If necessary there is a possibility to
make the auxiliary equipment and provide an engineering service.

Probable customers of this technology could be
firms-producers of rolled products and firms-designers and producers of
the rolling equipment and rolling mills.

The specified technology surpasses known analogues
in world practice and is protected by the copyright certificates and patents
of Ukraine.
