Vladimir Pashinsky
Born in 1957.
In 1979 has graduated with honours from Donetsk Politechnical Institute (now Donetsk State Technical University) in speciality of "Physical Metallurgy, Equipment and Technologies of Thermal Treatment of Metals", and went on with post-graduate studies in speciality of "Physical Metallurgy and Thermal Treatment of Metals".
Obtained Ph.D. in Engineering in 1983 after defending a thesis dedicated to research of structure and charachteristics of composite materials with matrix made of carbon steel.
Since 1983 - a research engineer at the Department of Physical Matallurgy and Thermal Treatment of Metals
Since 1984 - assistant, since 1987 till the present moment - Associate Professor at the same Department (in 1993 the Department was reorganised into Department of Physical Material Engineering).
Lectures on the set of special disciplines:
Crystallography | |
Physical Metallurgy | |
Powder and Composite Materials | |
Steels and Alloys with Special Characteristics etc. |
Partly courses are lectured in English for the students of Physical-Metallyrgical Faculty who undergo an advanced language training.
Scientific work.
The major research is connected with structure and charachteristics of composite, clad and laminated materials with metal matrix.
Since 1989 started the research in the sphere of raising durability of metallurgical equipment elements. In the frames of this direction in 1997 the research is started in the sphere of new grades of alloys development on the basis of tungsten carbide and progressive methods of their production.
Since 1995 takes part in scientific-research work conducted together with "General Electric" in the sphere of new production processes of highquality titanium alloys.
After the results of scientific research there were published 60 scientific works including 12 certificates and patents. In frames of scientific cooperation several times visited Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, USA, Hong-Kong where took part as a lecturer in different scientific conferences.
Has a good command of English language.
Since 1998 is a dean of the Department of Foreign Students' Training.
